About this material
Bamboo grows at a remarkable pace, which makes it one of the most renewable raw materials we can build a cosmetics ingredient around. We carbonise the mature culms in low-oxygen kilns and then activate the resulting char with steam, opening up a vast internal surface area that traps oils, particulates and odours.
The finished powder is jet-black, weightless and silky between the fingers. It blends easily into both anhydrous and water-based systems and gives finished products an unmistakable matte-graphite look.
